Making Space

When Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­ talks about space, it's usually related to rocket launches, missions to Mars and internships with NASA. Not this time.

Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­ has initiated construction of a new six-story, 556-bed student housing complex, Crimson Crossing, at the northeast corner of Babcock Street and University Boulevard. Upon completion, the new residence hall will increase on-campus housing space for Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­ students by about 27%.

The majority of the apartment-style units in the complex will be four-bedroom, two-bathroom suites equipped with full kitchens, providing modern and comfortable living spaces for students. Amenities will include a classroom area, study and lounge spaces, a multipurpose room and two outdoor courtyards designed for dining and recreation.

The university eagerly anticipates welcoming its first Panther residents into the new student housing complex in August 2026.

Groundbreaking Ceremony

Dozens of community and business leaders joined the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­ community at the former Southgate Intramural Field Friday, April 11 to celebrate a milestone in Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­'s growth and commitment to student success—a groundbreaking ceremony honoring the university's newest campus housing complex.

"We come together (today) for the best reason: students," President Nicklow addressed the crowd. "Motivated by the young people who will live in this impressive structure-to-be, we will ensure they also continue to receive a renowned Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­ education in between spending time in these cool rooms and spaces."
