Animal Care and Use Protocol
Public Health Service (PHS) policy requires the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) to review, approve, require modifications to, or withhold approval of activities involving the care and use of vertebrate animals. The IACUC must also conduct continuing review of each previously approved, ongoing activity. PHS Policy establishes requirements for the IACUC review process and the components of animal use protocols.
