At Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­ you will find a close-knit community led by faculty members who are passionate about student success. Our small class sizes and low student-to-faculty ratio encourage close collaboration and mentorship, as well as individual creativity and leadership.

Within the flexible curriculum you can explore your interests and develop your personal career path. You choose your own focus, but you’re not on your own—you will work with your advisor to develop your program plan, and degree requirements are structured to ensure breadth and depth of knowledge.

Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­ is known for hands-on learning, and your classwork is only the beginning. Here, you’ll find the facilities and resources on campus that you’d expect from a top science school.

The F.W. Olin Physical Sciences Center, distinguished by the Ortega Observatory atop, offers advanced labs and facilities, including a geospace laboratory with a spacecraft instrumentation clean room.

Next door, the F.W. Olin Engineering Complex boasts a multimedia auditorium and numerous specialized research labs, such as geomaterials, robotics and magnetic levitation labs.

Across from the engineering building, the F.W. Olin Life Sciences Building houses cutting-edge facilities like the High-Resolution Microscopy and Advanced Imaging Center and labs for genetic engineering, cellular and molecular biology, and marine biology.  

Adjacent is the state-of-the-art Bioengineering and Sciences Building, featuring over 20,000 square feet of classroom and lab space equipped with advanced tools such as atomic force microscopes and virtual dissection tables.

As a science student at Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­ you’ll also have access to the , a one-of-a-kind, 12,000-square-foot building featuring remarkable equipment and resources. It’s a focus of activity for student research and design projects—and it's available for personal projects, as well.

Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­’s location in a high-tech corridor makes us a great place for an interdisciplinary science degree. Our area has one of the largest high-tech workforces in the country, and that means numerous internship and employment opportunities for our students. Our 130-acre campus is in the heart of the Space Coast; NASA-Kennedy Space Center on Cape Canaveral is just north of us.

When it’s time to kick back and relax, you’re just minutes from 72 miles of beautiful beaches, a short trip away from the Florida Keys or the Orlando theme parks and minutes away from the Indian River Lagoon, the most biodiverse estuary in North America.

But you won’t have to travel far for rest and relaxation. We also have  with  and , over 200 campuswide  and a wide variety of social activities.

Interdisciplinary science students at Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­ have the opportunity to participate in science internships in a wide range of fields and with a variety of companies. Because of the individualized nature of the program, students can choose a specific field or company that interests them.

Some of the organizations that provide science internships to Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­ students include L3Harris Technologies Inc., NASA, National Institutes of Health, Northrop Grumman Corp. and many more.

Science internships at these and many other companies provide our students with the opportunity to utilize their skills outside the classroom and forge connections that may grow into careers.
