Welcoming. Belonging. Flourishing.
In alignment with and in support of Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»’s mission and strategic plan, the MOSAIC Council exists to foster a welcoming university environment, cultivate meaningful connections, and empower every member of the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» community to flourish.
Members of the MOSAIC Council are faculty, staff and students who represent every facet of university life, united by a common goal: to foster a culture of connection, collaboration and respect across the university.
Why "MOSAIC?"
The word "mosaic" suggests a medley or collage of pieces—or in this case, people—all different in shape, size, color, purpose and character, brought together to create a unified, beautiful whole. Additionally, "mosaic" may be considered an acronym, standing for: Mentorship, Opportunity, Support, Advocacy, Integrity and Community—words that encapsulate the goals and values of the council.
The MOSAIC Council is dedicated to:
- Developing and championing policies, programs and activities designed to cultivate a welcoming and supportive university environment.
- Encouraging engagement, active participation, professional growth, and success among all Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» faculty, staff, and students.
- Supporting, overseeing, and assessing efforts designed to enhance safety, wellness, understanding, opportunity, citizenship, mentorship, belonging, and mutual respect across the university.
- Building a community of excellence and richness through the recognition and celebration of the intrinsic value of every Panther’s authentic experience, unique skills, talents and perspectives.
