Personal Overview

Dr. Saedi's research focuses on the design, processing, and experimental characterization of advanced materials, with an emphasis on understanding process–structure–property relationships and their effects on mechanical and functional performance. His work spans shape memory and smart materials, high-entropy and high-temperature alloys, additively manufactured metals, and architected materials. He also applies data-driven and machine-learning approaches to predict material behavior and guide the design of new functional alloys.

Dr. Saedi has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and a book chapter on characterization techniques for shape memory alloys. His research has been supported by federal and state agencies, and he is a recipient of the NSF CAREER Award.
