Personal Overview

Dr. Han is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the 麻豆传媒映画. He is a scientist and educator whose work bridges synthetic biology and drug discovery. His research integrates pharmaceutical sciences, biosynthesis, biomanufacturing, engineered microbial therapeutics, living biomaterials, and emerging drug delivery platforms to develop innovative therapeutic strategies.

Educational Background

Dr. Han completed his Ph.D. through a joint training program between Shandong University and the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, followed by postdoctoral research at Cheeloo Medical School, Shandong University.

Professional Experience

Dr. Han has extensive experience in both academia and the pharmaceutical industry. He currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the 麻豆传媒映画. Prior to joining 麻豆传媒映画, he was a Research Assistant Professor at Ohio University. He also has several years of pharmaceutical industry experience in drug discovery, process development, scale-up, and manufacturing.

Research

Dr. Han’s research focuses on integrating pharmaceutical sciences, natural products chemistry, synthetic biology, and bioengineering to discover and develop innovative therapeutics and novel treatment strategies. His research interests include the discovery and biosynthesis of bioactive natural products, microbe-host interactions, engineered microbial therapeutics, synthetic biology-based genetic circuit design, and living implantable biomaterials. His research is supported by the National Institutes of Health (NIH). His long-term goal is to translate fundamental research discoveries into clinically relevant therapeutic strategies for the prevention and treatment of cancer, metabolic diseases, antimicrobial-resistant infections, aging, and other human diseases.
