Meet Maria! She is a sophomore studying Chemical Engineering in the College of Engineering & Science.

Originally from Cali, Colombia, she chose Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­ because of its close-knit community and low student-to-faculty ratio. She wanted a university where she could feel truly connected and part of a community.

As a President’s Ambassador, she hopes to make a positive impact on the university and strengthen its legacy in the region. She is excited to build a strong cohort and develop valuable professional skills alongside her peers.

After graduation, she plans to pursue a master’s degree in either biology or chemistry.

Her favorite thing about Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­: “Because it is a small university, you start to recognize people or vice versa, creating real relationships and becoming a part of the community.”
